CAUSES OF INFERTILITY
Blocked Fallopian Tubes
The fallopian tube is where fertilization of the egg occurs. During a natural pregnancy, the sperm and the egg fertilize into an embryo in the fallopian tube. If both or one of the tubes are blocked, fertilization can be prohibited. In some cases, the “hair-like” structures, called fimbriae, at the end of the tubes may be damaged. If the fimbriae are damaged, they cannot pick up the egg.
