Almost 4 years
What inspired you to pursue a career in your field?
I experienced firsthand the life-changing impact having a skilled and caring nursing team provided not only to myself but my family too. Nurses don’t merely administer care; they add heart to the healthcare system.
Can you share a memorable moment or achievement from your time at IVF Michigan?
After spending 18+ years working in Labor and Delivery, Women’s Health I knew it was time for a change. I truly can say this is my dream job. There are so many memorable moments here at IVF Michigan & Ohio Fertility Centers as we watch and help couples become families, each transfer is a miracle in my opinion.
Can you describe a recent project or task you worked on that you’re particularly proud of?
In November of last year I took over the OR scheduling and became the new OR Manager. This was definitely not an easy task but everyone has cheered me own, sent special messages and helped me with their support and honest feedback.
What are your professional goals for the next year?
I plan on learning new skills to boost my professional growth and career advancement.
Can you share a fun fact about yourself that your colleagues might not know?
I married my high school sweetheart 33 years ago, we have 5 grown children, 3 sons and 2 daughters.
What is your favorite food?
It’s a toss up between Mexican and Italian.
In what ways has the employee positively impacted the workplace or gone above and beyond in their role?
Crystal Andersen took over the OR Managerial role from Debbie Shaw, who built the OR in this building. Despite the challenge of filling Debbie’s shoes, Crystal has been working nonstop and doing an amazing job every day. Since she started, we’ve seen a tremendous improvement in the release time of lab/OR schedules in both locations, directly benefiting our daily lab schedules. Crystal is a great team player who always sees the big picture.
How has this employee contributed to improving our workplace environment or company culture?
She inspires myself and my coworkers to be the best versions of ourselves by leading by example.
